Unusual Edwardian oak cigar box in the shape of a coal box.

The actual cigar cutter element is disguised within the mock coal shovel affixed to the side.

The box has a brass handle to the top, brass hinges & knob decorations.

The lift out ash tray fitted into the top is metal and the underside of the lid has a small metal panel fixed onto it, which is to stirke matches accross.

Some small pieces of the brass hinges are missing and one foot has been reaffixed at some time (the photographed foot).

The front angled section lifts up to reveal a plain storage area partitioned accross the width of the box with a small plinth of oak.

This item is both interesting and well made, a nice unique item in good condition. (Circa 1900)
