A 19th century Victorian black marble mantel clock.

The clock has a rouge marble plinth for the bronze figurines mounted to the to and sides.

This very unusual clock is made in an Egyptian style with hieroglyphics from the period of the Pharaohs engraved into the front.

Mounted on the top is a bronze bust of a king and there are bronze sphinx either side of the temple shaped case.

The clock has an eight day movement that strikes on a bell which has the maker's mark for Japy Freres, famous French clock makers.

The clock is in working condition and has a one year guarantee with Robert Taylor & Son. The black marble case has a chip to the bottom left hand corner.
