•    Antique Corner Cabinets

Wall hanging antique corner cabinets with wonderful glazed doors and inlaid with other woods are great for displaying porcelain or antique glass. The 18th century corner cabinets with wood panelled doors, sometimes bow fronted with swan neck pediments and sometimes inlaid, both the glazed and panelled door models where mostly made in the Georgian periods.

The larger double, floor standing corner cabinets with glazed or wood panelled upper doors and panelled doors below. The antique double corner cabinet in most cases breaks down into two parts and once in place can store a lot of possessions. Smaller and sometimes prettier Antique Edwardian “Sheraton Revival” models with satinwood inlays will fit into smaller properties.

•    Antique Display Cabinets

The display cabinet has been used from the 17th century onwards to display collections of porcelain, glass and object d’art and vary in size and material from the Antique Continental models with gilt metal mounts and copied in Britain in the Victorian period to the Sheraton and Chippendale cabinets copied in the Edwardian period.

•    Antique Bedside Cabinets

The Antique bedside cabinet or some times called pot cupboard (as in chamber pot). We sell these constantly to use as bedside lamp stands and for book storage. The models vary form the cabinet which is a small floor standing cupboard with a door and drawer and on the Georgian model a commode drawer, to the cabinet standing on four legs either square tapering or turned wood.

The Victorian circular floor stand design with a marble top can also be used anywhere as a pedestal for a plant or bust. The Edwardian period copied the 18th century bedside cabinets but made them to a smaller scale. Pairs of bedside tables are hard to source and we try our best to have some Antique pairs in stock

•    Antique Side Cabinets

The Antique side cabinet is used as a small or assistant sideboard, can be called a “Chiffonier” and made of Mahogany, Walnut, Rosewood and the later models in oak. We have models with wood panelled or brass grille doors with a drawer above and great for storage.

•    Antique Box Cabinets

The smaller cabinets that are also in the Box category are Stationery or Writing cabinets used for the storage of writing materials and mail. Antique Apothecary or Medical Cabinets are always an interesting article to stock with all of their bottles, jars, scales and weights made in the Georgian and Victorian periods.
