Oak Tapestry Fire Screen by Beaverman

A 20th century oak framed fire place screen with a needlework panel behind glass.

The screen is designed to tip and become a coffee table when the two hinges are released to allow the tipping action.

The screen was made by Colin 'Beaverman' Almack who was established in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, in 1960.

The business moved from Thirsk in the early seventies to its present home at Sutton-under-Whitestone-cliffe.

The screen has the carved beaver trademark on the foot of the screen.

The screen is in very good original condition and in working order. (Circa 1970)
