Specimen Top One Drawer Table

A middle of the 19th century specimen wood top one drawer side table.

The table is very good quality rosewood with a single ash wood lined rosewood front drawer.

The table has a pair of platform bases with bun feet, each with a pair of spiral rosewood supports.

Between the supports is a fretwork decoration and a spiral cross rail adjoining them.

The drawer front and sides are decorated with scrolling rosewood panels.

The table top has a geometric pattern of many specimen woods, palm, walnut, tamarind, karellian birch, maple and others.

The specimen woods are framed by a broad band of ebony which continues around the edges.

The veneers used for the 'Specimens' and the  ebony edge are extremely thick.

The table is in good condition. (Circa 1850)
