Gagneau of Paris Six Branch Candelabra

A fine example of a late 19th century six branch ormolu candelabra by Gagneau & Cie Paris.

The candelabra has a circular base decorated with pea, wreath and flower details and has a fluted column.

The six branches are in pairs, each pair emerges from an acanthus leaf and the branches have a reeded decoration.

The centre of the lamp has a pierced basket into which a glass posy holder is fitted.

The lamp holders have a petal and reeded decoration and a faux candle into which a lamp is fitted.

The candelabra is in very good condition, has been re-wired with an inline switch and comes with six small clip on shades.

The cut glass posy holder is missing it's base so would only be suitable for dried flowers. (Circa 1895)
