Victorian Pottery Oil Lamp

A fine example of a Victorian Staffordshire pottery oil lamp.

The lamp is held in a brass frame, the pottery is decorated with dark blue and red pattern on a white background and highlighted in gilt.

The top oil holding part of the lamp lifts out and the lamp has it's original glass shade which is decorated with panels of grapes and vines and cupids.

The brass frame has a triangular platform base, a central support and a tripod outer frame that has Christopher Dresser style feet.

The brass has a Victorian registration mark which is rubbed and the lamp adjustment wheels are marked "Young's Patent".

The lamp is in very good condition. (Circa 1880)
