A pair of early 19th century gilded brass candlesticks.

The candlesticks are in he shape of cranes with a crown around their necks and holding in their beak a lotus flower which in turn supports the candle sconce.

The cranes are standing on a rocky mount scattered with sea shells and to the underside the bases are cast iron weighted that are marked with the maker's name 'Abbott Brothers' who were from Birmingham.

The candlesticks have separate candle sconces that fit inside the acanthus shaped holders.

The candlesticks are in original condition with the gilding worn over the years.

One of the cranes has a repair to the bottom of it's legs.
