A fine 19th century Victorian coromandel wood veneered games compendium.

The games box has a hinged lid with a rounded edge and gilt brass banding at each end with exposed screws and in the centre of the lid are intertwined initials.

The box is beautifully lined with red leather and holds the following: a games board in the lid for chess, draughts or checkers and backgammon, a set of bone draughts or checkers, a chess set, a turned box wood dice shaker and six dice and finally a set of ebony and bone dominoes.

The compendium is in excellent condition with a working lock and key and a brass retail plaque for 'H Rodrigues Piccadilly'. (Circa 1870)
