Fine Cased Set of Carving Knives


A fine set of Victorian carving knives and forks.

The carving set have carved ivory handles with sterling silver ferrules and handle tops and are held in an original fitted case.

The carving set has sterling silver hall marks for Sheffield, the year 1884 and the maker's mark for John Batt, the silver also bears a Victorian kite registration mark.

The steel knife blades are marked 'James Lawson, 70 Argyle Street, Glasgow' which is a retailer's mark.

The set is in very good almost unused condition with some very minor marks to the steel.

The fitted case has a black leather exterior and a blue silk interior with contrasting braid. (Circa 1884)
