A George III mahogany apothecary cabinet. The cabinet has gilded brass carrying handles with hook and eye door locks. The box comprises a lift up lid with lock and key, the lifting of the lid releases two spring catches which lock the front and back doors. The inside of the top is compartmentalised into storage areas for scales, jars with lids, glass measures etc. Inside the door to the front is a row of six glass bottles and four drawers, two of which have glass implements, one drawer holds pill boxes and the other drawer has two compartments with sliding lids. The door at the back opens on two shelves which will hold several glass bottles. The box is in good condition, one of the glass jars has an old replacement lid.
