An 18th century George III mahogany four door press.
 
The press comprises a cupboard top that would have had four siding trays or shelves (we have replacement oak shelves) and a cupboard base with two short drawers over one long drawer with original brass handles.
 
The press is made from mahognay with oak for the panelled back and drawer linings. The press has a moulded top edge, ogee shaped bracket feet and all four doors have fielded panels.
 
The press has had internal repairs to the wood around the left hand upper hinge, door catch and both smaller drawers. The lower lock and keyhole escutcheon are replacements. (Circa 1780)
