Ratcliff of Birmingham Postal Scales

A set of mid 19th century Victorian brass postal scales.

The scales are made by the Birmingham manufacturer J & E Ratcliff (Joseph & Edmund) who traded around 1846 - 1900.

The oblong mahogany box has recesses to hold seven weights 8oz to 1/4 oz and the balance arms sit to the back of the stand.

The scales are in good condition and one of the balance trays are stamped 'J & E Ratcliff Maker'. (Circa 1860)
