Graham, Just to let you know that the chest has arrived and appears to be in ok shape, as does the sewing box, which is more than can be said for the van driver who left in worse shape than he arrived. I must be fitter than him which is more surprising. Anyway, my kids are delighted, currently playing with the secret compartments and impressed by the one pound note that remained in one of the draws. Now that we know of a system for delivery we will have to look at other things to buy. I just have to persuade my wife of the benefits of English antiques over Italian modern.

Just a line to let you know how delighted I am with the dresser which arrived safely a week or so ago. It is in excellent condition, just as it looked in the photo on your website, in fact. It is such an unusual piece and it looks wonderful in situ. I must say I am particularly delighted because normally I don’t buy anything on the internet, apart from airline tickets. But I fell in love with this dresser in the photo, and having established with you that it really did look like that, I had no qualms about ordering it . It arrived in France completely unscathed and now has pride of place “chez nous”.  Another plus is that the colour exactly matches a small gothic style table, as you will see in the photos I am sending you.
