Victorian Coromandel Dressing Box
A 19th century coromandel wood veneered brass edged dressing or jewellery box.
The box interior is fitted with ten glass jars and boxes that have silver plated tops and a lift out tray that holds a set of mother of pearl handled manicure tools and button hooks.
The box has a release button at the back of the interior that opens a spring loaded drawer in the base.
The drawer has a blue velvet and silk lined ring and watch tray.
The underside of the lid is blue velvet lined and drops forward to reveal a correspondence folder and a lift out mirror.
The box has a brass plate in the centre of the lid with the name C A Lamont and the date 1871.
The box and fittings are in good condition with a small hole in the velvet and the lift out mirror has some foxing to the mirror plate. (Circa 1871)
