Sycamore Inlaid Sewing Box
A mid 19th century sycamore veneered inlaid sewing box.
The box has a finely inlaid and cross banded lid with a centre inlay of what we think is laburnum.
The sides of the box have panel of sycamore with a fine line of another timber in-between.
The inside of the box has a lift out tray that is compartmentalised to hold threads and ribbons and the underside of the lid is silk lined.
The box is in good condition but has a couple of old scratches to the top of the lid. (Circa 1840)
