A mid Victorian ebony veneered and mother of pearl inlaid lap desk.
The lap desk has a fine satinwood interior with a green leather writing surface that has a gold tooled edge.
The top edge of the desk has two screw top glass inkwells, marked "London Patent", and lidded compartments for sealing wax, nibs, clips etc. and a pen rack.
The lids are ebony veneered, mother of pearl inlaid and have carved mother of pearl knob handles.
The lap desk is in good condition, the centre of the green leather writing surface is a replacement. (Circa 1870)
