Georgian 12" Dial Mahogany Barometer
A large early 19th century Georgian 12" dial mahogany barometer by Thomas Harris & Son.
The barometer has a hydrometer to the top, a thermometer, a small convex mirror, a large silverised dial and a spirit level at the base.
The spirit level is engraved "T Harris & Son London" - Thomas Harris & Son were opticians to the Royal family and had branches across London from 1806 to after 1900. They occupied the premises at 52 Great Russell Street (opposite the British Museum) between 1817-1887.
The barometer has a figured mahogany case that has a cross banded and box wood edge with box wood line inlay to the side.
The top of the case has a brass urn finial with a swan neck pediment.
The barometer is in good condition and fully working. (Circa 1830)
