Georgian Bookcase Attributed to Gillows

An early 19th century Georgian mahogany open bookcase attributed to Gillows of Lancaster.

The bookcase has two adjustable shelves with reeded front edges and flanked by a pair of carved mould pilasters that have scrolling bosses to the top.

The top and bottom edges are decorated with 'pea' quarter moulds and the upper frieze has carved patera to each end.

The bookcase stands on four reeded ball feet. This very neat bookshelf is in good condition. (Circa 1820)
