18th Century Bow Double Corner Cupboard

An 18th century mahogany and satinwood bow fronted double corner cabinet.

The cabinet could possibly be Irish made and is profusely inlaid with satinwood fan inlays and a panel in the shaped pediment.

The cabinet is in two parts, the top with a single glazed door and the base with a single satinwood veneered door.

The top has a fourteen pane astragal glazed door with a domed top.

The frame around the door has fan inlays, star and marquetry inlays and box wood lines.

The top of the cabinet has a moulded cornice with an inlaid frieze below and a shaped pediment above that is mounted with three turned wood urns.

The cupboard base has a single bow door with an oval satinwood centre panel that has segmented veneers divided by line inlays and in the centre a marquetry vase with flowers.

The frame surrounding the door has line inlays and inlaid urns.

The cabinet has two shaped shelves to the top and a bow shelf in the cupboard base.

The cabinet is in good original condition with a few chips and marks to the wood. (Circa 1780)
