Georgian Hepplewhite Elbow Chair
A Georgian mahogany Hepplewhite elbow or arm chair.
The chair has a serpentine shaped top rail to the back, a broad pierced centre splat carved with acanthus and ribbons and a leather upholstered seat.
The shaped arms have a reeded detail to the hand rest and front.
The square legs are joined by a 'H' cross stretcher, the front legs and seat frame have a caddy edge.
The chair is in good condition, the seat pad has recently been recovered in red leather. (Circa 1800)
