18th Century George II Walnut Bureau
A mid 18th century George II walnut veneered bureau with chequered inlays.
The bureau has four graduated oak lined drawers with steel locks and brass swan neck handles.
The drawer fronts and bureau flap are walnut cross banded and have chequered inlay decorations.
The bureau flap opens and is supported on a walnut fronted pull out oak rest on each side.
The interior has six pigeon holes, a central hinged door and six oak lined drawers with brass knob handles.
The drawer fronts and central door are decorated with ebony and box wood inlays.
The pillars either side of the door are disguised slim compartments that pull out.
The small sized bureau stands on shaped bracket feet and is in good condition with some historic repairs to the walnut cross banding. (Circa 1740)
