Chippendale Style Pedestal Desk
An early 20th century Chippendale style mahogany pedestal desk by James Shoolbred & Co.
The desk has nine mahogany lined drawers that all have blind fretwork carved fronts and 18th century style gilt brass rococo shaped handles.
The desk top has an old replaced green and gold tooled leather writing surface.
The desk has bold ogee shaped feet all around and is raised on hidden casters underneath.
The desk is stamped "JAs Shoolbred & Co" across the top edge of a drawer.
This very good quality desk is in good condition and finished on all sides so it can free stand.
The desk has a key and the locks are better quality than normal, made by Hobbs & Co London. (Circa 1900)
