An early 19th century George IV zebra wood veneered mahogany lined Davenport desk.
The desk has four drawers with knob handles to the right hand side with four dummy drawers to the left.
Above the drawers is a small pen and ink drawer which pulls out and swings forward for use.
The sloping writing surface has a leather insert and under the flap is a storage compartment with two drawers.
To each side of the knee hole area are tapering pillars with carved capitals.
The davenport is finished all around so it can free stand and is raised on bun feet with casters underneath.
