Impressive Victorian Oak Sideboard

A large 19th century Victorian oak sideboard with a triple mirror back.

The base is breakfront in shape, has three concealed drawers in the front frieze, and four large square tapering and carved ballusters supporting the top.

One of the drawers is stamped inside with 'Alexander Cree & Co, Cabinet Maker, Upholsterer Carpet & Warehouseman 34 Bothwell St Glasgow'.

To the centre is a pair of panelled and carved doors and inside a large cellarette drawer to one side with a small shelf above and to the other side three sliding trays.

The sideboard has two open compartments to each side of the centre cupboard with fielded panels to the back and side.

The dome top back has three bevelled mirrors and two bow fronted shelves supported by carved corbles.

The centre of the dome top has a carved lion mask above a row of carved circular flower shapes.

This magnificent Victorian sideboard is constructed from a honey coloured oak which has kept to it's original colour and the interior is oak lined as are the drawers.

The sideboard does have some minor marks to the top from use over the years and the back edge of the plinth base does have a small strip missing along the bottom.

The left hand mirror does have some spotting in one corner and the sideboard has a wax finish. (Circa 1870)
