Regency Empire Style Fire Screen
An early 19th century Regency mahogany Empire style adjustable fire screen.
The screen panel is embroidered with silk thread and encased behind glass and can slide upwards.
The stand has a pair of swept figured mahogany end supports with turned uprights that the panel sits in-between.
The pair of supports have a turned cross rail joining them and a matching cross rail that the screen sits into.
The top of the screen has a decorative pair of joined scrolls that act as a handle to pull the screen up.
The screen sits tightly in the frame and is in good order with some discolouration to the original needlework panel. (Circa 1820)
