George IV Zebra Wood Library Table

An early 19th century George IV zebra wood two drawer library table.

The table is of unusual construction with a drawer at each end and a tip top mechanism.

The table has a platform base with concave sides and is raised on four scroll acanthus feet that have disguised casters underneath.

The tapering central pillar that holds the top has a carved rosette around it's base and a platform at the top on which the drawer top is bolted.

The two mahogany lined drawers have a working lock and key and the underside of the table has a brass release catch to allow the top to tip.

The table is in good condition with it's original colour and polish, two panels can be removed to unbolt the top for transport. (Circa 1830)
