Georgian Mahogany Three Part Table

A late 18th to early 19th century Georgian mahogany 'D' end table with a centre drop leaf.

The table top has a broad rosewood cross banded edge with box wood line inlay, the legs are box wood strung and the frieze around the table has a rosewood and box wood edge.

The table stands on 14 square tapering legs, the centre two pair are gated legs that open to support the two large leaves.

The centre has two set back legs and when the gates open they also are set back to allow seating along the full sides.

The table can be used closed, with one leaf open, both leaves or the centre drop leaves without the 'D' ends.

The table is made from good quality mahogany and is in good original condition with brass clips to hold the 'D' ends to the drop leaves.

The table top has some old marks from use and is priced to have some sympathetic restoration.

The table would comfortably sit 10 people but could sit 12 or even 14. (Circa 1800)
