Georgian Mahogany Tray Wardrobe
An early 19th century Georgian mahogany tray wardrobe or press.
The wardrobe is decorated with ebony line inlays and has oval brass replacement handles.
The cupboard top has a pair of doors with figured mahogany veneer to the recessed central panels.
The interior has four sliding linen trays over a pair of drawers with gilt brass swan neck handles.
The chest base has four long graduated drawers with beech wood linings and cock beaded edges.
The wardrobe stands on bracket shaped feet and has a dental mould and cross grain veneered frieze to the cornice.
The cupboard top lifts off the chest base to move.
The trays can be removed and stored if a hanging rail is preferred for the interior.
The wardrobe is in good condition with a working lock and key, the drawer linings have had some minor wood worm in the past but have been treated and are now dead. (Circa 1820)
