The oblong oak stand is raised on short bun feet and has a drawer in the front.
The top has a recessed pen or pencil compartments, a plated metal handle and two glass inkwells that are square with hinged plated metal lids.
The lids are engraved 'S (a crown) O' which we believe is Her/His Majesty's Stationery Office.
