A mid 18th century George II tea caddy.

The caddy is unusual as it is veneered in a herring bone pattern with laburnum onto oak and is inlaid with ebony and boxwood and cross banded also with laburnum.

The interior has three matching tea canisters again laburnum veneered on all sides and with sliding lids that have ivory knobs.

The caddy has it's original brass handle but a changed lock and key and is in very good condition though the paper lining is later. (Circa 1750)
