A late 19th century Victorian mesh fire guard with a clothes drying rail.
The guard comprises a tall metal mesh with a half round polished brass top rail and a metal base rail.
Attached to the top rail is a tubular brass rail which pulls forward for use as a clothes airer.
The guard has hooks to both sides so that it can be secured to the fire surround for safety.
