Cedar & Bevelled Glass Games Compendium

A late 19th to early 20th century cedar wood and bevelled glass games compendium.

The box has a pair of front opening doors and a hinged lid all with bevelled glass.

The compendium comprises a chess set, draughts or checkers, a cribbage board and pegs, dominoes, four sets of cards, dice and shakers, counters, lead racing horses and jumps, whist scoreboards and instructions and a folding games board.

This compendium was by repute a gift from Queen Mary who was a lifelong friend of the previous owner's grandmother Agnes Helen Soames.

The compendium is in very good condition, the horses and jumps in particular look un-used which is rare as most times they have some damage.

The four sets of cards are still sealed while the bone draughts pieces have a few minor shrinkage cracks. (Circa 1900)
