Marble and Gilt Brass Betjemman's Tantanlus

Late 19th to early 20th century marble and gilt brass Tantalus with three cut glass liqueur decanters, stamped "Betjemman Patent Tantalus".

The stand has shaped and polished marble frame with  chased gilt brass corner brackets and folding locking handle.

The handle has a lock at one end, engraved "Betjemman's Patent London" and to the other end it is engraved "The Tantalus".

The three small decanters are circular with hob nail cut sides and with round facet cut stoppers. The decanters sit in green velvet lined circular slots and are locked in place when the handle is in the upright position.

The Tantalus is in good condition with a working lock and a key.
