19th Century Chinese Canton Vase
A large mid 19th century Chinese Cantonese porcelain vase.
This very good quality and well decorated baluster shaped vase has four dragons climbing up the neck.
The vase is covered in hand painted enamel foliage, butterflies and birds all on a gold background.
The vase has two large painted scenes of Chinese dignitaries in their finery with attendants and horses, one panel has been broken and repaired.
The top of the neck has two smaller similar scenes in shaped panels.
The quality of the scenes, the decoration and the many colours used make this a very decorative vase even with the repair. (Circa 1850)
