Japanese Carved Wood Foo Dog
A late 19th to early 20th century Japanese carved wood figure of a foo dog (Komainu).
The mythical lion dog has a young dog on its back that is resting its front paws on a carved ball representing the world.
The dogs have bulging pottery eyes with mouths open and bone teeth.
The figure is in good original condition. (Circa 1900)
