Japanese Lacquered Root Wood Tray
A late 19th century Japanese Meiji period red lacquered root wood tray.
The tray has a naturalistic root wood edge with a red lacquer to the inside that is decorated.
The tray has a scene of trees and water with a bridge in the centre, mountains in the distance and a signature to the top right.
The underside of the tray is black lacquered and has a paper label.
The tray is in good condition with some minor chips to the lacquer and root wood edge, the surface of the tray does have a few marks from use. (Circa 1890)
