A large pair of late 19th century Japanese Kutani porcelain vases made in the Meiji period (1868-1912).

The vases are beautifully decorated with hand painted scenes of cranes standing in a glade of bamboo, the vases complimenting each other with left and right facing scenes.

The back of each vase has a single crane flying over water with a snow capped mount Fuji in the background.

The neck and rim of the vases are painted in a mock bamboo fence detail in gold.

The vases are signed underneath with six characture marks in gold and a black fan shaped background.

The vases are in very good condition. (Circa 1900)
