Scottish Horn & Silver Quaich

A late 19th century Scottish horn Quaich.

The Quaich has been shaped out of cow horn, the two handles have citrines that are held in sterling silver mounts and the centre holds a silver hall marked disk.

The Quaich is made by William Dunningham & Co from Aberdeen who specialised in silver mounted horn objects.

The central silver mount is inscribed SCUAB AS'I (meaning 'quaff it' or 'drink up') and has hall marks for Edinburgh, W D & Co and the year 1899.

The Quaich is in very good condition. (Circa 1899)
