William IV Sterling Silver Vinaigrette

An early 19th century William IV sterling silver vinaigrette by Nathaniel Mills.

The vinaigrette has a hinged lid, an interior with a finely pierced, engraved and gilded grille.

The exterior has applied embossed flowers and foliage to the rim and a centre cartouche with the initials A.R.

The vinaigrette has hall marks for Birmingham, the year 1836 and the maker's mark for Nathaniel Mills.

The vinaigrette has had a silver metal chain added so that it can be hung around the neck.

The vinaigrette is in good condition, the hall marks are slightly rubbed. (Circa 1836)
