18th Century Chippendale Gentleman's Press

An 18th century George III Chippendale mahogany Gentleman's press or tray wardrobe.

The press has a shaped cornice with a dental moulding above a cross grained frieze.

The pair of doors have decorative turned patera in the corners and figured mahogany veneered central panels that are cross banded and bead edged.

The interior has five original oak linen trays with a moulded front edge and shaped sides.

The base of the press has two short drawers over two graduated long drawers with cock beaded edges.

The chest stands on ogee shaped bracket feet and is in good condition.

The press has been in the private collection of a now retired antique dealer.
