A fine 18th century Georgian mahogany cased Grandfather clock.

The clock has a brass and silverised dial by William Thomson of Edinburgh.

The slim mahogany case has a long door with quarter Corinthian columns to either side and the hood has full columns with brass plinths and capitals.

The top of the hood has a swan neck pediment with brass patrea, a gilt brass finial in the centre and blind fret satin birch decoration.

The dial has engraved decoration and 'William Thomson Edinburgh' across the centre.

The clock has an eight day works that strike the hour, the dial has a date aperture and a secondary dial for the seconds.

The clock is in full working condition, has had the case sympathetically restored and the works come with a 12 month guarantee  with Robert Taylor and son . (Circa 1780)
