19th Century Rosewood Armoire
A 19th century French rosewood armoire.
The armoire has a single mirrored door and can be used to hang clothes but also has four adjustable shelves with rosewood fronts.
The armoire is decoratively veneered in rosewood with quarter veneered and has cross banded sides and shaped moulded corners.
The cornice has a domed top with carved foliage, flowers and scroll work.
The full height door has a mirror to the centre with a broad bevelled edge a mould to the frame and quarter veneers.
The interior of the door is birds-eye maple veneered as is the internal drawer.
The base of the armoire has an oak lined drawer with a quarter veneered and shaped front, the interior has a drawer at the bottom that has a key pull.
The armoire has carved rosewood cabriole legs to the front with scroll carved toes and bracket feet to the back.
The armoire can be partly dismantled for transport with a pin door that lifts off.
The armoire is in good condition with a working lock and key. (Circa 1870)
