A mid 19th century ebony brass mounted Zanzibar chest with a hinged lid.

The chest has a flat back and a five sided shaped front with a lid to match that has a heavily moulded edge.

The chest front has the five panels each with a moulded front and the four outer panels with a heavy cast brass handle and a pierced brass back plate.

The front panel has a large pierced brass keyhole escutcheon and four domed brass mounts with four matching mounts to the lid.

The chest is raised on five short cabriole legs with claw and ball feet and pierced brass banding at each corner of the legs.
