A pair of 19th century French Bois Durci medallions of "Queen Victoria" and "Prince Albert".
The medallions have 'Bois Durci' moulded into the back and Victoria is in a circular walnut frame.
Bois Durci was used as an ebony or hard wood substitute and was made from hard wood sawdust mixed with animal blood that was heated and compressed in a mould.
Both medallions are in good condition, the walnut frame has been repaired in the past.
