An early 19th century Spode porcelain dessert service.
The set comprising a tureen on stand with lid, a pair of oval shaped dishes, a pair of oblong shaped dishes with branch style handles, a pair of circular dishes each with a single handle and eleven side plates. The plates and dishes are decorated in the centre with assorted fruit and leaves and have a gilded edge. The tureen has the same fruit decoration along with butterfly handles on the tureen base and lid and has gilded edges.
The set has a Spode mark in capital letters in a terracotta colour with the numbers 2480 on some pieces.
The set is generally in very good condition with some rubbing of the gilt edges and one of the circular dishes has an old crack. The edge of the butterfly wings on the tureen has a nick.
