Edwardian Inlaid Writing Table

A fine quality early 20th century Edwardian inlaid mahogany three drawer writing table.

The table is profusely inlaid with swags of harebells, ribbons, fan inlays and is box wood strung along with satinwood banding.

The table stands on four square tapering legs with brass casters and has three drawers to the front that are mahogany lined and have brass ring handles.

The top has an inserted green leather writing surface that has a gold tooled edge.

The table has a raised back that consists of two pairs of drawers that are joined by a concave upper shelf and raised on short square tapering legs and all surmounted by a gilt brass gallery.

The table is polished and inlaid to the back so it could free stand if so desired.

The writing table is in very good condition with a few marks to the leather surface from use.

The table is made from very good figured mahogany and the quality of the inlays is exceptional.

The brass locks are stamped with the maker's name 'Cope & Collinson'. (Circa 1900)
