Pair of Japanese Satsuma Vases

A fine pair of late 19th century Meiji period (1864 - 1911) Japanese Satsuma pottery vases.

The vases are conical in shape with a slim neck and decorated with Japanese ladies in traditional (Bijin) dress in a garden with children, flowers, blossom and butterflies.

The lower edge of the vases are decorated with finely painted flowers and blossom and are signed underneath with the makers characters for Koyama Nampo.

The vases are in very good condition. (Circa 1890)
