A fine example of a mid 19th century Victorian walnut tapestry fire screen.

The profusely carved walnut frame comprises four cabriole legs with pottery and brass casters, a turned cross rail and a circular frame surrounded by pierced carved decorations and a finial top.

The tapestry panel is constructed from wool and beads and depicts flowers and leaves surrounding an architectural feature.

The screen is in good condition, it has had some wood worm which is old and has been re-treated. the material back cover to the screen which covers the wood back is perished. (Circa 1860)
