Five late 19th to early 20th century Rowntree's Gums glass jars.

Rowntree's were established in York in 1862 and started selling fruit gums in 1893.

The jars have pressed metal lids that are Art Nouveau in design with 'Rowntree's Gums' around the rim of each lid.

The sweet jars were originally in a sweet shop that has now been re-constructed at the Beamish Museum in County Durham.

The jars have some minor nicks to the edges under the lids, one has a small crack and the lids are sound but slightly oxidized. (Circa 1900)
